Camaro West is a filmmaker, producer, and people-centred leader using documentary film to advance justice and centre the stories of Black and brown women. For more than fifteen years, she has led global advocacy campaigns, program development, and film production in collaboration with UN Women, The Dove Self Esteem Project, and FRIDA the Young Feminist Fund.
Currently based in Toronto, Canada, Camaro is Co-Executive Director for Peace is Loud and co-founder of 43° North Productions. She is a member of Brown Girls Doc Mafia, a collaborator with the Buffalo Documentary Project, and sits on the board for Squeaky Wheel Film and Media Arts Center.
